A temporary email address is the fastest way to receive a verification code, sign up for a service, or download a gated file without giving up your real inbox. OneTempMail generates a disposable email address the second you load this page, lets you receive real email in real time, then permanently destroys the address along with every message it received. No registration. No password. No trace.
The temporary inbox above is already yours. Copy the address, paste it into the signup form you came here for, and the verification email lands in the inbox within seconds. When you walk away, the address self-destructs on the timer you chose — anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes — and nothing about it remains on our servers.
What Is a Temporary Email?
A temporary email (also called disposable email, throwaway email, or temp mail) is a working email address with a built-in expiration date. It receives real messages from any sender, displays them in an inbox you can read, then deletes itself and every message it ever received once the timer runs out. The address is real enough to pass verification checks, but disposable enough that nothing about it persists.
OneTempMail is a free temporary email service that gives you a brand-new disposable address every time you visit, with no account creation required. You can pick how long the address stays alive — from 5 minutes for fast one-time codes, up to 30 minutes for slow verification flows. Pick the window, copy the address, use it, walk away.
Temporary email is the modern alternative to typing fake email addresses into signup forms. Fake addresses fail verification because they do not exist on any real domain. A temporary email is a real address on a real domain owned by us; verification emails actually arrive, you read them, then the address evaporates.
How OneTempMail Works
Using OneTempMail takes under 30 seconds end to end. There is no account to create, no app to install, no settings to configure. The temporary email address is generated automatically the moment you open this page, and the inbox above it auto-refreshes every few seconds so you see new messages as they arrive.
- Open this page. A unique temporary email address is generated for you instantly and displayed at the top of the page.
- Copy the address by clicking the Copy button. The full address (including the domain) is now on your clipboard.
- Paste it into any signup or verification form that needs an email address. Hit submit.
- Return to this tab. The verification email or confirmation message appears in the inbox above within seconds.
- Click the message to read it. Copy the OTP code, click the verification link, or follow whatever instructions the sender included.
- Walk away. The address self-destructs on its own timer — your inbox and every message in it are deleted automatically. No cleanup needed on your end.
If you want a longer or shorter window, pick from our timed options: 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes. The default home page address auto-expires within the hour with no action required from you.
When Temporary Email Is the Right Choice
OneTempMail is built for any situation where you need a working email address for a short period without committing your real one. Here are the most common scenarios our users come to us for:
- One-time OTP and verification codes. Newsletter signups, gated content downloads, free trials, comment forms. The code arrives in seconds; the address is gone before any follow-up email can reach you.
- Signing up for Facebook, Discord, Reddit, or Telegram. Each platform accepts temporary email for verification. Our Facebook temp mail page is built specifically for Facebook's slower verification flow.
- Free trial signups for SaaS products. Trials that require email verification but auto-charge later: temp mail handles the verification, then the trial company cannot reach you for the conversion email.
- Avoiding spam from one-off signups. Any time you would normally give a junk email to a forum, coupon site, or download form, temp mail does the verification properly and then disappears.
- Hotel and airport Wi-Fi captive portals. Free Wi-Fi networks that demand an email before letting you connect. Give them a temp mail; the address dies before you leave the gate.
- Anonymous comments, surveys, and quizzes. When you need to verify ownership of an email to comment but want zero long-term tie to your real identity.
- Developer and QA testing of email flows. Each test run gets a fresh inbox without managing test accounts or polluting real ones.
- Privacy-conscious journalism, research, and account separation. Anyone managing multiple online personas, alternate accounts, or research profiles benefits from disposable email that breaks the link between sessions.
Why Use OneTempMail Instead of a Fake Email
Typing a fake email address into a signup form sounds easier than using a temp mail service, but it almost always fails. Most signup flows require email verification: they send a code or a confirmation link to the address you provided, and the signup is incomplete until you click or enter that code. A fake address that does not exist on any real domain receives nothing, and the signup never finishes. OneTempMail solves this with a real, working email address on a real domain we own, just one that disappears on a timer.
Beyond simply making signups work, OneTempMail gives you what fake email never could: a way to receive the OTP code, click the verification link, or read the welcome message, all in your browser, without ever opening Gmail or Outlook. The whole verification flow happens in this one tab. When you close it, every trace of the interaction is gone.
Temporary Email vs Your Real Email Address
Temporary email is not a replacement for your real Gmail or Outlook — it is a tool for the situations where giving up your real email would cost you more than it benefits you. Here is how the two compare across the dimensions that matter:
| Feature | Temporary Email | Real Email |
|---|---|---|
| Setup time | 1 second, no signup | Minutes, account required |
| Lifespan | 5–30 minutes (you choose) | Permanent |
| Privacy | No identity attached | Tied to your real name + device |
| Spam risk | Zero (address dies) | Spam list forever |
| Verification works | Yes, receives real email | Yes |
| Recover account later | No (use real email for important accounts) | Yes |
Pick the Right Temporary Email Duration
Different signups need different windows. A Discord verification code arrives in 5 seconds, so a 5 minute address is plenty. A Facebook business page signup can take 10 minutes to deliver the verification email, so you need at least 20 minute mail. Pick the timer that matches the speed of the service you are dealing with:
How OneTempMail Protects Your Privacy
OneTempMail is engineered so that no link between you and the temporary email address can persist after the timer expires. We do not require an account, so there is no profile to associate with the inbox. We do not log the contents of incoming messages beyond what is needed to display them in your browser. We do not share inbox data with advertisers, analytics providers, or third parties. The address itself is generated cryptographically random with enough entropy that it cannot be guessed by anyone else.
When the timer runs out, the address and every message in the inbox are deleted in real time from our database. Not on a delayed cleanup job. Not soft-deleted with a recovery flag. Deleted immediately and permanently. There is no archive, no backup of expired inboxes, and no recovery flow. Any email sent to an expired address bounces back to the sender as undeliverable.
Compared with using your real Gmail or Outlook for a one-off signup, OneTempMail eliminates the long tail of consequences: no spam list inclusion, no advertising profile cross-link, no future newsletter reaching you years later, no breach exposing the address. The address simply never existed in any persistent sense.
Platforms That Work With OneTempMail
OneTempMail addresses are real email on real domains, so they work with effectively any service that accepts a standard email for verification. Specific platforms our users sign up to most often:
- Discord (account creation, server invite verification)
- Reddit (account signup, email verification, password reset)
- Telegram (alternate sign-in email)
- Facebook (with our dedicated Facebook temp mail page)
- Instagram (alternate account verification)
- Substack, Beehiiv, Ghost, and other newsletter platforms
- Free trials of most SaaS products (Notion, Figma, Linear, Canva, etc.)
- Gated content downloads (PDFs, ebooks, webinar registrations)
- Forum signups (Discourse, phpBB, vBulletin, XenForo)
- Captive Wi-Fi portals (hotels, airports, cafes, conferences)
OneTempMail Features in Depth
Beyond the basics, OneTempMail offers features that other temporary email services typically charge for or do not support at all:
- Multiple owned domains. We rotate across 8+ owned domains so that signups blocking one domain still work with another. Pick a domain from the dropdown next to the @ sign.
- Custom username. Click the username portion of the email address to edit it. A real-name-style username (firstname.lastname) often improves acceptance on platforms that screen for disposable email.
- Real-time inbox auto-refresh. The inbox above checks for new messages every few seconds. You do not need to manually refresh; new emails appear as they arrive.
- Attachment support. Incoming messages can include attachments up to a reasonable size; they are accessible during the inbox lifespan.
- 13 languages. OneTempMail is available in English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, and Italian. Switch languages from the EN button in the header.
- Timed durations from 5 to 30 minutes. Pick the disposable email window that matches your signup flow: short for quick OTPs, long for slow multi-step verifications.
- Mobile-first interface. Most temporary email users are on mobile mid-signup; OneTempMail is designed for fast, one-thumb interaction on a phone.
When NOT to Use a Temporary Email
Temporary email is the right tool for many situations, but it is the wrong tool for several common ones. Use a permanent email address you control instead when:
- The account is important and you might need to log back in later. If you ever need a password reset, the temp mail will be gone.
- The service involves money: banking, payments, payroll, financial accounts, ad spend. Use a real email for anything tied to a money trail.
- The account holds identity-critical information: government services, healthcare, insurance, primary social accounts.
- Two-factor authentication backup email. Temp mail is the wrong place to store a recovery channel for any account that matters.
- Long-term communication with another human being. Temp mail is receive-only and short-lived; it is not suitable for two-way conversation.
